Firefox is both the title of the film and the code name for the jet fighter stolen by Mitchell Gant (Clint Eastwood, who also directed) from the Soviet government during the Cold War. The film was released in 1982. The story isn't as concerned with the actual theft of the plane, inasmuch as Gant's attempt to infiltrate the Soviet Union and the airbase where the plane is being developed.
