High Road to China is a 1983 film starring Tom Selleck, Bess Armstrong, Jack Warner, Wilford Brimley, Brian Blessed & Robert Morley. Set in the 1920s, Selleck is, Patrick O'Malley, a World War One ace pilot (and alcoholic) who agrees to take the daughter, Eve Tozier, of a rich industrialist to Asia to find him. O'Malley has two biplanes and discovers, in their first meeting, that Eve is an expert pilot.
O'Malley's planes are Belgian Stampes. Not sure of the model numbers yet. The planes are named "Dorothy" and "Lillian" after the famous Gish sisters, 1920s actresses.
