Raiders of the Lost Ark is a 1981 action-adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg, co-written by Spielberg and George Lucas, and starring Harrison Ford as Henry "Indiana" Jones, an impulsive and intrepid archaeologist who searches for the fabled Ark of the Covenant. Set in the year 1936, Jones must find the Ark before the Nazis do. Joining him on his quest are Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen) and Jones' friend Sallah (John Rhys-Davies). The story is spread over four continents (South America, North America, Asia and Africa) and is based on the serial adventure films of the 1950s, beloved by both Spielberg and Lucas as children.

Pan-Am Clipper Edit

Jones boards one of these planes en route from San Francisco to Nepal to find Marion Ravenwood. The now-famous "red line" map that appears as the backdrop of the flight traces his journey across the Pacific Ocean as the plane flies through Hawaii, the Philippines, Southeast Asia and Nepal.
